Ekphrastic poem on Max Ernst’s Quietude (1929)

JSNews, Poetry

A second poem from my Paris series is now published in The Ekphrastic Review. I wrote this poem after wandering down a hallway in Paris’ Museum of Modern Art where several of Max Ernst’s ink sketches hung on a wall. Something about this one caught my attention, with its surreal sea scene. I wrote down a few poetry lines while I stood there, and finished the poem later that day. May this poem inspire new lives for our collective decorative chairs.
